FLL – FIRST Lego League Challenge

2022

Massive congratulations to this years FLL Challenge team “Intergalactics” who made it through to Nationals in Sydney and took home the “Breakthrough” award. What a fantastic result. Well done all!!.

2021

The 2021 FLL season game has been released and is called “Cargo Connect”. We are hoping to mentor both an Explore and Challenge team this season. The biggest challenge for us will be doing this remotely as NSW is currently in lock down which makes meetings tricky!!

2020

Due to the limitations imposed by COVID-19 we have decided that we will not be entering a team for the 2020 FLL season. This is a sad decision but we need to concentrate effort and resources for FRC and also FLL Explore.

For the  2019 season of FIRST Lego League we were excited about the City Shaper theme and we had 2 teams that entered.

Our 2019 teams were

  • Jellywhales
  • Hippity Hoppity
We competed in the Wollongong Regional Competition on 30th November 2019 and both teams did very well.

In 2018, our third season of FLL, we had three FLL teams competing. Every year we are steadily growing and increasing the number of girls across the teams.

Our 2018 teams were:

  • Galaxy Gliders
  • Gravity Shift
  • Jellywhales

Our aim is to have equal representation of girls and boys in the teams, and possibly a girls only team!

All of our teams competed at the Wollongong regional competition at The Illawarra Grammar School. The Elonera Gravity Shift scored an amazing 140 points in the robot competition placing 3rd, Elonera Jellywhales won the Inspiration award and were invited to attend the State Event, where they obtained a Presentation award and were invited to the National championships. They scored a personal best of 160 points in the robot game, coming 15th out of 74 teams.
